WISDOM – PART 2
WISDOM COMES
FROM
“For the
LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Pr 2:6).
The search for wisdom begins with humility before God. True wisdom for living comes only from Him. He speaks through Scripture, through life events, and sometimes through visions or dreams. All Scripture is God‑breathed, and as we read, absorb, and daily meditate on His Word, we gain insight into the Father, Son, and Spirit. As David declared: “I will meditate on your wonderful works” (Ps 145:5). This journey is not solitary. We grow experientially when we are in a bible-based church, so get slotted in.
The Hebrew word for understanding
is bināh, meaning the ability to distinguish between things. It
is therefore the intellectual and spiritual insight that allows us
to see situations clearly and recognise truth, guiding us toward wise choices.
The Hebrew word for knowledge
is daˈath meaning insight and awareness gained through lived
experience. Knowledge then becomes more than a concept when applied to daily
life—it becomes truth in action.
Wisdom (chokmāh), knowledge (daʿath),
and understanding (bināh) are inseparable gifts. They shape how
we live, make decisions, and relate to God. Yet all of this flows from one
source—a deep-rooted relationship with Jesus. Pursue Him with all your heart
and mind, and you will not go wrong: “The Lord
looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who
understand, and any who seek God” (Ps 14:2).
